Installing VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle
In this post, I will use the VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle Easy Installer for Aria Automation and vIDM to install a VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle instance.
Configure DNS for the VMware Aria Suite Products
You need to configure DNS records for the VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle, VMware Identity
Manager and VMware Aria Automation instances that you plan to deploy using Aria Easy Installer.
Install VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle
1- Download ISO file from Broadcom and mount it.
2- Run the Installer from vrlcm-ui-installer folder.
2- Aria Easy Installer for Aria Automation and vIDM appears, click NEXT.
3- Select the I accept the terms of the license agreement checkbox, click NEXT.
4- Specify the vCenter details and click NEXT. Click ACCEPT in the Certificate Warning window.
5- Select a location to deploy appliances on it and click NEXT.
6- Select a cluster to deploy virtual appliances.
7- Select the required datastore and verify that the Enable Thin Disk Mode check box is selected, click NEXT.
8- Specify the network configuration details, click NEXT.
9- Configure a password to use for the root and administrator accounts.
10- Specify the Aria Suite Lifecycle Configuration, click NEXT.
11-Select Install New VMware Identity Manager then specify the Identity Manager Configuration, click NEXT.
Turn on the Skip VMware Identity Manager installation and import toggle, if you want to skip it for now.
12- Select Standard Deployment then specify the Automation Configuration, click NEXT.
For a cluster deployment, you need three nodes plus Load Balancer IP address and Hostname.
13- Review the configuration and click SUBMIT.
14- The Installation Process window appears.
15- Installation failed because of this known issue, as mentioned in the KB, I added FQDNs of vCenter and ESXis to hosts file and then it proceeded without any issues.
